Langley Schools Music Project

This is one of the most amazing albums to listen to. I find the song arrangements and recording to be so touching and beautiful. Often when I listen to it I’ll find myself tearing up at particular songs. Innocence is definitely an appropriate word to use here, so lovely.
And I’m not the only one! I [...]

Happy as a Clam

And what the heck does that mean anyway? But that’s what I am.
It’s all blustery outside. I put down the blanket door and turned on the heat for the first time of the season. And ahhhhhh does it feel amazing. Why is there such a huge difference between the heat that we love in [...]

Side B

A Music Lover’s Graphic Novel?!
Thanks Largehearted Boy, you always point me in the right direction!
And yes, there is a Side A too, woo!

Break in the Stillness

So I had picked up the last Bill Callahan album, Sometimes I Wish I Were An Eagle, when it came out, gave it a couple of listens, and put it away. Nothing stood out to me as wow.
But took it back out this evening while I was picking up. I don’t think I really listened [...]

Grateful

Grabbed some ice cream dessert treat-ness with a friend at a new retro diner in town. It was yummers. Then it was cool enough to feel absolutely delicious out – perfect to walk around. 82 degrees. I’m a lucky gal to have caring, thinking people in my life.
Been listening to the Park the Van [...]

Noche de la rata

I’ve had to declare war again. The rats are out rustling about for water. Or my blood. Not much makes my skin crawl but these guys do. Why they’re coming up to my porch I have no idea. There’s nothing on there, no plants, no water…maybe they’re auditioning for the circus, balancing on the rail [...]

Want some upbeat 80’s sounding surf pop music?

I didn’t think I did. But I did!! I needed to hear The Drums!
Somebody delivered their song “Let’s Go Surfing” to my email, and now I give it to you. Here’s another song “I Felt Stupid”.
They’ve also made a video with waaaaaay too much running in it for “Let’s Go Surfing”:

I [...]

Fooling Radio

I was looking through some photos and found these from almost two years ago to the day that were taken during an Amplified Mixtape show. The lighting makes me all yellow so I kinda feel like I’m in The Simpsons, but kinda fun

Almost two years to today.

Ramones at the top of the stack.

So [...]

Heart and Star

Today I went by the post office coming back from lunch and had the blessed yellow slip in my mailbox – TREASURE! It means that there was a package waiting for me! And treasure it was; I splurged with a 10% coupon at Insound and picked up a couple of reissued Big Star albums, [...]
